TNS Appointment Continues 'Drive'

July 21 2006

David Moxley has joined TNS to head up a new Customer Insight Consulting Team. The move is described by the global agency as the third senior hire supporting its drive to deliver more strategic business insights, following those of John Abraham and Gaurav Bhalla.

Moxley will be based in Toronto and will support TNS' growing focus on business intelligence, reporting to Abraham, who is Head of Strategic Development and Marketing.

Initially, the new team will focus on supporting the financial services, insurance, retail and telecom sectors in North America, but will also look at strengthening TNS capabilities in Western Europe and Asia and Latin America.

Moxley started and led the Bank of Montreal's Customer Knowledge Management initiative and launched the Air Miles loyalty programme in Canada - building it up to be the most successful joint loyalty programme in the world. He joins from IBM, whose Canadian retail industry marketing he led. He is a speaker and author of several books on customer knowledge management.

Abraham says Moxley's role is to build a high performance consulting team to exploit the firm's extensive experience in behavioural modelling and attitudinal research.

Moxley describes his initial challenge in specific terms: 'Most of TNS's clients have customer behaviour databases which can be used, with the right framework and segmentation techniques, to establish individual customer objectives based on customer value and requirements. Combining these databases with TNS' rich attitudinal customer insights enables our clients to better know their customers - what they buy, how and when they buy it, and most importantly, why they buy it.' Such knowledge will, he adds, 'generate profit for our clients and fantastic experiences for their customers'.

Bhalla was promoted to Global Innovation Director on July 4th - see DRNO www.mrweb.com/drno/news5676.htm . TNS is online at www.tns-global.com .
