New Head of Marketing for ACNielsen US

August 2 2006

ACNielsen U.S. has hired Edward Franczek to lead its Marketing function as Senior Vice President. He previously held similar roles at GOLIATH Solutions, Kraft Foods and facilities maintenance firm W.W. Grainger.

Franczek will be based at ACNielsen's U.S. headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois and will take responsibility for Nielsen's go-to-market strategy, direction and goals as well as new products and services development. He will also oversee its Market Decisions, TDLinx and Beverage Alcohol business segments.

At W.W. Grainger, he led a multi-channel effort across 400 retail stores, direct sales, catalog marketing and internet sales. He spent 12 years at Kraft, eventually as Vice President, Marketing and General Manager, with P&L responsibility for the Cultured Products Group. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Michigan State University and a Masters in Business Administration from the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University.

According to John J. Lewis, ACNielsen U.S. President and CEO, Franczek's marketing and sales experience and his technological expertise will add 'tremendous value' to the business. 'In particular, the combination of his work with GOLIATH Solutions, LLC, leading the utilization of RFID to track execution and performance of in-store marketing programs, and his deep CPG brand and sales experience at Kraft Foods will bring us an incredible depth of knowledge and experience.'
