Nielsen Media Research has announced that cable service provider Insight Communications has signed up to its new NORA™ on-demand transactional reporting service, which began testing only this year.
Under the terms of the agreement, NORA (Nielsen On Demand Reporting & Analytics) will analyze and report non-personally identifiable VOD (Video On Demand) orders from Insight’s cable set-top boxes.
VOD data from Insight will be integrated into the NORA service to provide Insight with significant viewing preferences and trends. Kevin Dowell, Senior VP of Insight Media, comments: ‘Insight is committed to the growth of the VOD platform, and as such we recognize the importance of accurately measuring customer usage. We believe that partnering with Nielsen will be instrumental in aiding our programming decisions and helping us build out our engagement-based advertising platform.’
According to Holly Leff-Pressman, Senior VP and General Manager of Nielsen’s On-Demand Service, ‘Our objective is to work with all the leading VOD service providers to better understand and report overall consumer viewing preferences in conjunction with other forms of video delivery, including television viewing.’
