Arbitron continues to promote long-serving employees in senior positions: this week, 27-year company veteran Dottye Gould-Smith becomes Senior Vice President, Respondent Acquisition & Compliance Operations.
Gould-Smith was previously VP of Data Collection Operations. In her expanded role, she will handle all respondent acquisition and compliance activities for the company's Portable People MeterSM (PPM) and traditional diary services.
Her career at Arbitron spans a number of key data collection roles, including many years of direct management of the company's owned and operated call centers, as well as management of relations with outsourced call centers. She is frequently consulted as both a field expert and participant on industry panels, and has a degree from Cazenovia College in NY state.
Based in the company's Columbia, MD, office, Gould-Smith reports directly to Claire Kummer, Arbitron's Executive VP, Operations, Integration & Manufacturing, who comments: 'Dottye's leadership, tenacity and grasp of her discipline ... have enabled Arbitron to literally weather hurricanes and other challenging obstacles – and still deliver on its commitments. [She] will play a key role in building the customer trust and acceptance we'll need to commercialize the PPM as the basis of Arbitron's radio currency in the top 50 markets.'
