New York Brand Consultants Join Forces

Strategic brand marketing and communication consultant DeanNYC has acquired the MR and brand advisory firm Marketing Insights, Inc. Karen Dubinsky, who founded Marketing Insights in 1987, becomes Dean NYC's Chief Branding Officer.

CEO Thom Dean said in a statement last week: 'This is a significant accomplishment for us. Karen has one of the finest reputations in the industry; to add someone of her caliber to our portfolio of brand offerings is a giant step forward for us and a great asset to our clients.'

Dubinsky says the two principals have worked together successfully for 20 years and share common ideals and strategic thinking. Previous collaborations include work for Sony, Comcast, and Turner Entertainment Networks using a process they developed jointly, called 'Outside the Box'™.

Dean NYC itself was only created in October when 25-year-veteran Dean bought out Imagemark Brand Resources from Imagemark, a company he started with partners Bruce Ross and Bernie Marden three years ago. Dean worked in agencies including DMB&B; DDB Needham; TBWA/Chiat Day and Hill Holliday/Frankfurt Balkind (IPG), before joining Imagemark where he served as President of the branding division – the latter generated over $5 million in new business in the year before Dean's buyout. He describes his approach to brand building as 'strategic and research driven' and aims to make the firm 'the top name in both strategic and experiential branding.'
