Chinese Alliance for Yankee

December 13 2006

Yankee Group and Chinese technology advisor Analysys International have announced a partnership agreement. The exclusive Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), signed today, commits the firms to working together on research reports, consulting projects and the hosting of industry events.

The reports will be co-authored and co-branded by both companies, with the first covering the WiMAX infrastructure market in China. More generally, Yankee Group will help introduce Analysys' research on China's technology, media and telecom (TMT) markets to an international audience. It also gains a new distribution channel in China, the largest telecom market in the world with more than 449 million mobile users, 370 million fixed-phone users and 50 million broadband users.

XJ Wang, VP of Yankee Group Asia-Pacific Research says the agreement underlines the firm's specific commitment to expanding its footprint in the Asia-Pacific region. 'In such emerging markets, it is critical to partner with leading local research firms that are aligned with Yankee Group's mission.'

Additionally, the partners will organize, market and host selected conferences and trade shows together in China and the United States. Both companies have immediately agreed to work on co-hosting WiMAX World Asia in Beijing in April 2007.

Edward Yu, Analysys International founder and CEO, says the deal is 'a strong strategic fit for both parties... The combination of Analysys International's leadership in the Chinese market along with Yankee Group's global leadership on connectivity research, produces a truly powerful business approach in reaching an emerging market audience.'

Yankee Group is headquartered in Boston and online at www.yankeegroup.com . Analysys International, which provides solutions including industrial information, industry/market analysis and strategy consultancy, has an English language home page at english.analysys.com.cn .
