US Arrival for AGB Nielsen’s Arianna

Nielsen Media Research has released the Arianna™ television ratings tool in the US. NMR says the tool, which is already in use in 30 other countries across four continents, will enable local clients to ‘move into the arena of desktop data analysis’.

The tool, which can analyse metered market overnight ratings data down to the level of a single market, will initially be rolled out to the ten markets currently covered by Local People Meters and the three scheduled for 2007. A version for agency, rep firm, national broadcast and cable clients will be released later this year, including a multi-market report.

NMR uses Arianna under license from AGB Nielsen Media Research, the joint venture company it formed with the AGB Group in August 2005 to offer TV ratings in 30 countries. Arianna™ was initially developed by AGB and has been modified jointly by the JV and Nielsen Media Research for the US market.
