New Features for The Wire

February 20 2007

UK fieldwork firm The Wire, part of Illuminas, is launching new products to complement its 100 CATI station facility. Features include real-time progress checks and interim analysis on data; and a package integrating telephone and online contacts with individual respondents.

The online Wire Live portal offers real-time progress for both online and telephone projects and allows clients to run tables during fieldwork on live data. It can also incorporate historical data and a data warehousing facility for access to related project documents.

Wire Switch allows seamless transition between telephone and online interviewing from a single software platform and can be used to email stimulus material mid-interview. CATI interviewers can collect or check a respondent's email address, send an invite to an online questionnaire immediately and have its receipt confirmed during the call.

MD Kathy Hurst says the new features allow clients to take advantage of the benefits of online fieldwork, while answering some of their chief concerns about the method. 'Clients are obviously interested in benefiting from lower data collection costs by migrating suitable surveys online, but often they are wary of losing human interaction with their customers, or are uncomfortable using panel samples and want monitored recruitment.'

A third module, Wire Charts, delivers data in graphical or report format.

The company's home page is at www.the-wire.co.uk .
