Field and Tab Leaders Promoted at Informa

February 23 2007

Informa Research Services has announced two senior promotions in its Field and Tab Division, based in Seattle. Both Jackie Weise and Mitchell P. Thornburgh worked at Market Trends Inc. before its acquisition by Informa.

Weise has been promoted to Vice President for Field Services Sales. In this role she will continue serving key clients such as Microsoft, while developing the firm's data acquisition, data management and data delivery offering for new clients.

In more than twenty-five years in the industry, she has managed thousands of qual and quant studies using a full range of data collection techniques; designed and administered interviewer and management training programs to increase quality and productivity; and conducted management seminars to educate and promote the importance of market research.

Prior to its acquisition by Informa, she served twelve years running operations as a Principal and Executive VP at Market Trends, Inc., and ten years with U.S. Research of Chicago, as National Field Director, responsible for the daily operations of 20 mall locations nationwide. She started her career at Quality Controlled Services as Assistant Manager of the Seattle office. She is currently Immediate Past President of the Northern California/Pacific Northwest Chapter of the MRA.

Thornburgh has been promoted to Director, Business Development & Client Services, Field and Tab Division. He adds responsibility for developing new clients for Informa while he continues to lead the team of project directors serving Field Services clients in the Pacific Northwest and nationally.

Before serving as a Principal, VP and Director at Market Trends, he was Director of Research for GTE Alaska, overseeing customer satisfaction, new services, advertising and marketing implementation. He is also an experienced focus group moderator and has taught marketing classes and assisted in helping graduating students get into the technology and research industry. His own degree is from Western Washington University.
