Web Analytics Trailblazer Joins Unica

Enterprise marketing management (EMM) solutions firm, Unica, has hired Rand Schulman as General Manager, Internet Marketing Solutions Group (IMSG), to head the firm's web analytics and Internet marketing applications.

Schulman joins with a software marketing background spanning nearly 25 years, having most recently held the post of Chief Marketing Officer at web analytics specialist, WebSideStory. He was previously Senior Director of Strategy & Products at WebTrends, and also founded one of the first web analytics providers, Keylime Software, which was subsequently acquired by Yahoo! In the past he has also held a number of senior positions with major software companies, including with Harvard Graphics.

Unica CEO, Yuchun Lee explained how pleased he is to have someone of Schulman's caliber on the team: 'As Unica continues to expand its web analytics initiative, we believe the experience Rand brings will drive our Internet marketing business to the next level and help accelerate market adoption of our solutions. Rand's industry expertise and insight complement the strong capabilities we've already built into IMSG.'

Schulman is a founder and previous Board member of the Web Analytics Association and its President, Jim Sterne, commented: 'Rand didn't study web analytics, he created it. He didn't join the industry, he built it. He didn't prophesy solutions, he helped a generation of web analysts identify and tackle real world problems.'

In 2005, Schulman was named one of the Top 100 marketing executives by BtoB Magazine. He holds a BA in English and journalism from the University of Pacific.
