Harris Patent to Help Concept Testing

March 12 2007

Harris Interactive has been awarded a business method patent for a technology enabling the secure distribution and copy protection of images and video embedded in online surveys, as well as text appearing with them.

The technology is incorporated in a proprietary suite of security products known as ConceptLocTM, which disables all print capabilities and standard features such as save, save as, drag and drop and copy, and third party capture applications. As a result, the firm says the distribution of proprietary information is controlled, allowing clients to test new concepts for package design or advertisements in a protected manner.

Chief Scientist Leonard Bayer comments: 'This patent illustrates our ongoing commitment to technological innovation and to ensuring that we provide our clients with the best possible service. Our efforts to implement these advances enhance the security of our system while protecting the integrity of our surveys.'

Entitled 'A System for Protecting Information over the Internet', the techology is U.S. Patent No. 7,171,567. The company is online at www.harrisinteractive.com .
