WPP Subsidiary Buys DataCore

March 27 2007

WPP Group company KnowledgeBase Marketing has bought a majority stake in DataCore Marketing, an analytics and marketing strategy firm. Jeff Yowell, President and CEO of DataCore, will keep the remaining 49% stake.

DataCore's management and staff will stay in their current roles and in their existing headquarters near Kansas City, and Yowell himself will remain actively involved in running the business. The firm's analysis offering includes customer segmentation, campaign analysis and modeling, customer modeling, campaign controls and product modeling.

KnowledgeBase, which has the option to acquire the remaining shares at a later date, is a Wunderman company within WPP, providing database marketing services and specialising in healthcare marketing. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Gary S. Laben, President and CEO of KnowledgeBase Marketing, says the transaction 'perfectly complements' his firm's business 'by enabling us to help clients fill the gaps in their marketing execution while managing their operational costs more effectively.'

The firms' web sites are at www.datacoremarketing.com and www2.kbm1.com .
