Growth for Pharma Specialist Observant

In the US, Observant LLC has launched a qual software tool, Questrill, and made two senior appointments to support its rapid growth as a provider of pharma and healthcare research.

Vice President Erik Coats, Ph.D. has been made a full partner of the firm, while Robert Ramirez, MBA, has joined the firm as a Director.

A social psychologist who joined the firm in 2005, Dr. Coats has focused on assisting pharmaceutical clients bring to market new products aimed at prevention of cancer, heart attacks, strokes, and kidney disease. Disease prevention is a common theme in his work.

Ramirez, who joins from Pfizer, will focus on strengthening the company's alignment of marketing strategy with business processes. His experience includes development of multicultural operating plans, sub-national sales and in-line product strategy development.

The firm also announced last week the launch of a custom software platform, QUESTRILL™ , which it claims will 'dramatically improve the speed of qualitative research'. Designed by the firm's founders CEO Michael Feehan, Ph.D., and President Richard Durante, the tool aims to help pharma and biotech firms cope with the need for rapid and complex analysis in a pressurised commercial environment.
