Tobii Upgrades Eye Tracking Technology

April 27 2007

Swedish eye tracking firm Tobii Technology has launched a new analysis tool, Tobii Studio, to collect and analyse 'gaze' data.

With hardware said to factor in a much larger allowance for head movement, plus higher speed and automatic optimisation of bright and dark pupil tracking, Tobii says the new development is ideal for evaluating interactive media, as well as print advertising, TV ads and physical products.

The 'Studio' also offers a toolbox of statistics and reporting tools and contains features such as logging, remote viewing and demographic filtering to create a platform for usability testing.

Says Henrik Eskilsson, CEO at Tobii Technology: 'Our new line of eye tracking hardware will allow our customers to perform eye tracking even more easily, efficiently and accurately. Eye tracking now has a potential to make a difference on a broad scale in usability studies.'

Client Anna Carin Pålsson, CEO at agency Market Watch comments: 'We see great opportunities in adding eye tracking to our current methodologies and services. Having tried out the new Tobii Studio software, we expect it to add substantially to our customers and our business.'

The new product will be offered through resellers on a subscription and pay-per-use basis. Tobii Technology is headquartered in Sweden, with offices in the US and Germany and is online at www.tobii.com .
