Three Wise Men Bound for Oxford

May 2 2007

Oxford Intelligence, a UK-based consultancy and research firm specialising in foreign direct investment, has appointed three senior consultants as an Advisory Group to back ambitious plans for expansion. They include BPRI co-founder Jonathan Shingleton.

The Group consists of Sir Stephen Brown, most recently Chief Executive of UK Trade & Investment; Andrew McKinna, co-founder of Luxembourg-based life insurance company, Lombard International Assurance SA; and Shingleton, founder of research agency BPRI (Business Planning & Research International).

Oxford Intelligence Co-founder and Director, Peter Lemagnen, says the Group will be 'absolutely pivotal' for the compan's future growth. 'Over the last 10 years, Oxford Intelligence has established itself as a key player in the world of FDI-related business research; with the support of the Advisory Group, we intend to become one of the world's leading providers of data and intelligence to companies operating globally.'

McKinna, the Group's Chairman, says he believes Oxford Intelligence's specialist research and information systems for development agencies can be modified for private sector clients such as those in financial services, for use in key account management and cross-border marketing. 'As a former Marketing Director, whose clients were spread across Continental Europe, I am very excited about the range of potential applications for such systems.'

Brown's career in the Foreign & Commonwealth Office included postings as High Commissioner in Singapore, British Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, Director of Trade Promotion in China, British Consul-General in Melbourne and First Secretary Commercial in the British Embassy in Paris. McKinna helped established Lombard International Assurance in 1991 and sold his shares in the company in 1999. Shingleton sold BPRI (www.bprigroup.com ) to WPP Plc in 1999 and has since pursued a variety of business interests.

Established in 1996, Oxford Intelligence is online at www.oxint.com .
