Nine-year AOL branding veteran Marshall Cohen has joined the Board of online advertising technology agency ContextWeb, to provide the firm with media and marketing guidance.

Cohen joined AOL Time Warner in 1998 as Senior VP, Brand Development, responsible for directing centralised consumer and competitive research and overseeing the creation of brand marketing and advertising programmes. Prior to this he ran his own entertainment and media research company, Marshall Cohen Associates with clients such as Disney/ABC Cable Networks, MTV, CBS and Warner Enterprises. He also worked at MTV for the 12 years previously, latterly as Executive VP of Research and Strategic Planning.

'Marshall brings over 25 years of key management experience to ContextWeb,' says CEO Anand Subramanian. 'He provides unique and valued experience to ContextWeb.'

Cohen earned his BA in Speech Communication from the Pennsylvania State University, and his Masters degree from the University of Florida.

ContextWeb provides contextual advertising solutions which the firm says maximize the results and impact of online advertising. According to comScore Media Metrix (March 2007), ContextWeb is the 27th largest ad-supported property, reaching more than 54 million unique visitors. The firm is online at www.contextweb.com .
