The UK's Wine and Spirit Trade Association (WSTA) is to partner with MR consultancy Wine Intelligence, to offer members a free quarterly consumer insight report based on monthly online surveys.

Brian HowardThe launch will take place at the London International Wine and Spirit Fair later in the month.

Drawing on a pool of regular adult wine drinkers, Wine Intelligence will conduct monthly online surveys to provide a profile of UK wine drinkers and an overview of the market, with additional information about types of wine consumed, preference by country and variety, and consumer trend data such as spend, shopping habits, and perception. Each report will also provide information about a particular issue of importance to the industry.

Brian Howard, Business Development Director, of Wine Intelligence explained: 'The Wine Intelligence reservoir of insight about wine consumer attitudes and usage has increased hugely over the last few years, and this service provides the ideal distribution channel to share industry-wide intelligence with suppliers and retailers.'

Wine Intelligence recently launched an international online consumer research service called Vinitrac, to survey wine drinking habits in seven major wine consumption markets. The WSTA was established in 1824 to represent the wine and spirit supply chain, and currently has more than 300 members. The London-based partners are online at www.wineintelligence.com and www.wsta.co.uk .
