Kantar Brings in Design Veteran as First Creative Director

Kantar, WPP's Information, Insight and Consultancy division, has appointed leading design consultant Aziz Cami as its first Creative Director. He takes up the position next week.

Aziz CamiWith a corporate design and branding background spanning more than 30 years, Cami recently stepped down from his role as Creative Chairman and one of the founding partners of The Partners, a London-based brand design consultancy owned by the WPP Group.

Kantar says that the appointment is designed to help its companies deliver insights in more compelling ways and to help clients and their partners visualise the way in which the insights can be deployed. Cami will focus on areas such as innovation, new product development, concept development and retail, where the firm says: 'powerful useable insights always need to be translated into real concepts which can be seen, touched, heard'.

Cami is a leading figure in the design industry and was President of European design and advertising association the D&AD - from 1992 to 1993. He has won more than 140 creative awards including DBA Design Effectiveness Awards, The Art Director's Club of New York, and Communication Arts, and in 2005, he was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Design from the University of Wolverhampton. In his spare time, Cami farms olives in Tuscany.
