Semphonic Appoints VP Analytics

August 23 2007

Web analytics consultancy Semphonic has named June Dershewitz as its new VP Analytics. In addition to generating insights, her role will include helping clients with web and customer data integration.

Described by web analytics author Eric T. Peterson as a 'web analytics superstar', Dershewitz joins Semphonic with eight years' experience in the field. She most recently worked as a freelance web analytics consultant for a number of healthcare and media companies and in the banking industry with clients such as Blue Shield of California, CNET, Oracle and Wells Fargo. She has been a member of the Web Analytics Association since its inception in 2005.

Dershewitz describes herself as a 'data' person with a primary focus on understanding online customer behaviour. According to Semphonic President Gary Angel, bringing Dershewitz on board is part of a larger strategy for the firm: 'She deepens our already very strong Omniture support, extends our WebTrends knowledge and provides a further boost in our work that increasingly includes data integration and warehousing projects that go beyond pure web analytics data and solutions.'

Founded in 1997 as a web-analytics consultancy and based in the San Francisco area, Semphonic provides a range of services including tool evaluation, tagging, implementation, end-user and analytic training, and 'deep-dive' analytic projects. The company, which recently formed an alliance with Peterson's firm Web Analytics Demystified to offer an 'end-to-end' analytics service (www.mrweb.com/drno/news6975.htm ), is online at: www.semphonic.com.
