Jobs Go as Kantar Relocates Telephone Centre

August 23 2007

Eight supervisory jobs at Kantar Operations' Leamington telephone centre in the UK have been lost after it was decided to relocate the unit to its existing Warwick site based two miles away.

Worldwide CEO Sharon Potter commented: 'We have to continually improve business efficiency. It was no longer practical to manage two facilities in close proximity, neither of which has been operating at full capacity for some months. The decision was taken to relocate the smaller Leamington-based team of around 80 staff to the Trojan site in Warwick, which is larger and offers better facilities.'

In addition, four employees took voluntary redundancy, two were offered alternative roles but declined them, and two have found alternative employment. No interviewer roles have been affected.

'We are working closely and consulting with all staff affected by the move to ensure they receive our full support,' added Potter.

Last November Kantar Operations announced that around 30 staff would be laid off by July this year saying that many jobs would be offshored to India. A Kantar spokeswoman confirmed that this latest news is not connected.

Kantar Operations provides support and operations in the areas of project management, sampling, survey
programming, data collection and data processing, to Kantar Group market research agencies, which include AddedValue, Millward Brown and Research International.

The firm's web site is at www.kantaroperations.com.
