Green Technology News and Analysis Site Launched

A new web site offering in-depth market research, news analysis and events listings for the green-technology market has been launched by US firm Greentech Media.

Its founders, President & CEO Scott Clavenna and VP Research & Operations Rick Thompson both hail from telecoms news group Light Reading, whose market research wing, Heavy Reading, offers quantitative analysis of telecom technology to carriers, service providers and vendors. Prior to this, Clavenna founded consulting and market intelligence firm PointEast Research and Thompson worked there as Principal, where he led market analysis and strategic consulting across a wide range of network communications market segments.

Clavenna commented on the launch: 'The response so far has been overwhelmingly positive with over a thousand key industry players attending our webinars and hundreds of customers purchasing our market research products — all before we fully launched the site.'

The firm has partnered with the Prometheus Institute - known for its analysis into alternative-energy markets - to jointly produce market studies, webinars and live events. It has also linked up with @Ventures to become the exclusive host of the 'Cleantech Investing' blog.

The new team includes Senior Analyst and publisher of the Venture Power Report Eric Wesoff, and greentech reporter Jennifer Kho, plus a staff of analysts, writers, salespeople and managers. Launch sponsors include a number of green tech industry leaders, including Tioga Energy, EI Solutions, Weber Shandwick and the law firms of Goodwin Procter and Mintz Levin, many of whom will be collaborating with Greentech Media on a series of webinars.
