Sri Lanka Brand Ratings Launched

The Sri Lankan arm of brand evaluation and strategy firm Brand Finance has launched its 'Brand Ratings' scheme, which enables brands to benchmark themselves against top performing competitors. Partner TNS Lanka will provide the research component.

MD Ruchi Gunewardene said that by having access to this market data, firms would be able to track performance over time and conduct an annual 'check up' on their brands. 'Our Brand Ratings are conceptually similar to company credit ratings, certifying the health of the brand and enabling brand managers to make strategic decisions based on the findings,' commented Gunewardene.

He explained that the new ratings cover a broad range of categories such as FMCG, motor vehicles, hotels and financial services. 'What we have here is a brand rating system focused on creating shareholder value by delivering a tracking mechanism based on consumer and business demand considerations,' he added.
