Two Senior Appointments for TNS

October 12 2007

TNS has announced two global leadership appointments. Leendert de Voogd is promoted to Global Sector Head, Political and Social, replacing Marita Carballo who leaves to pursue 'academic and other interests'; while former Dell man Renaud Collery is appointed as Head of Global Operations.

de Voogd, who will be based in Brussels, has spent the last four years as MD of TNS Opinion, the group's Political and Social co-ordination centre which runs the Eurobarometer 33-country public opinion tracking service for the EC.

TNS MD Pedro Ros comments: 'Leendert has an excellent track record as a strong business leader with a deep understanding of the issues that drive our clients' research needs. I would like to thank Marita for all her enthusiasm and hard work over the last few years, and wish her well for the future. We will all miss working with her.' Carballo, who will continue to provide support to the sector as a Global Advisor until the end of the year, said she was 'very pleased' that de Voogd had accepted the role.

Collery will focus on efficiencies in the firm's processes and systems, driving improvements across the group. He spent nearly nine years at Dell as Vice President and General Manager, and was a member of the PC maker's European Executive Committee, as well as President of its Canadian subsidiary. Before Dell, he worked for five years with consulting firm Bain & Company, and spent time at Alliance Boots, General Electric, Altran and Telemecanique (Schneider Group). He holds an MBA from INSEAD and a PhD in Information Technology.

Chief Exec David Lowden comments on his new report: 'Over the last five years TNS has grown substantially both through organic growth and acquisitions. There is further scope to deliver new synergies by defining and sharing best practices worldwide. Renaud's knowledge and experience will play an important role in helping us implement our strategic goal.'
