Comperio Hires Head of Research

In London, Comperio Research has appointed Chris Barnes as Head of Research to spearhead the firm's operations across consumer, sponsorship and stadia markets.

Chris BarnesBarnes joins from business information publisher SportBusiness Group, where as Head of Research he was responsible for producing in-depth benchmark reports across a range of sports. Prior to this he was Research Director of the European arm of media research company Kagan World Media, where he led a team of analysts producing industry reports on the European cable, satellite and Internet sectors. While there, he was also a columnist and regular feature writer for the Kagan Euromedia magazine. Barnes holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Kent at Canterbury.

Commenting on the appointment, VP Frank Saez said: 'Chris brings with him a wealth of expertise in research and analysis, combined with solid sports industry knowledge. His exceptional track record and strong leadership skills will enable him to play an instrumental role in the development of Comperio's business, as we enter our next phase of growth.'

Comperio is part of US sports marketing and media group IMG, and was launched in 2002 to provide sports, sponsorship, tourism, media and events research services.
