Canadian Firm Planning Calais Call Center

November 14 2007

Toronto-based Acrobat Research plans to expand with the opening of a call center in Calais, Maine and the recruitment of more than 80 full-time and 130 part-time staff in January.

The firm already operates call centres in Ontario and Nova Scotia (www.mrweb.com/drno/news7255.htm ), but this will be its first in the US.

'Calais fits our business model of operations in rural areas and, we believe, provides a great location for our first site in the States,' Acrobat President Roland Klassen said. 'We considered a number of communities, but the available site in Calais is perfect, and development leaders have been excellent in answering our questions.'

It is expected that the company will occupy the former ICT Group telemarketing call centre, which closed four years ago.

The firm was founded in 1994 and provides opinion polls, customer satisfaction and advertising awareness surveys. Home page: www.acrobatresearch.com.
