Sports Specialist Transfers to AEG

November 19 2007

Sports and entertainment marketing and MR firm The Bonham Group Europe is to be acquired after just over a year in business by AEG, the company which operates the O2 arena and owns David Beckham's US team LA Galaxy.

According to a report on www.sportbusiness.com , TBG Europe's CEO Paul Samuels will lead a new division, AEG Sponsorship. Samuels has also served of Head of Sponsorship at O2.

The new division will develop TBG's core services including market research, sponsorship evaluations, sponsorship sales and negotiations, and will add work on AEG's new ventures across Europe - which include the O2 world arena in Berlin - as well as tour sponsorship and naming rights sponsorship. Samuels will report to David Campbell, Chief Executive and President of AEG Europe.

Samuels told sportbusiness.com, 'Over the past year we have been able to grow our team to meet the needs of our clients. This new investment from AEG will enable us to expand and offer a broader range of services and opportunities.'

AEG's global portfolio also includes the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, and the David Beckham Academy. It claims ownership of 'more sports teams and events than any other company in the world.'

Web sites of the two firms are at www.bonham.com and www.aegworldwide.com.
