US-based CMI Research has announced the retirement of veteran researcher Roger Bacik, effective 31st January. A former Executive VP of Elrick and Lavidge and a former CASRO board member, he is Currently CMI's Senior VP of Marketing, in charge of new client development.

After more than thirty years in marketing research, Bacik joined CMI in August 2002, since when it has enjoyed annual double-digit growth. Company founder and President and current CASRO President Chet Zalesky comments: 'Roger has been a respected member of the marketing research community for many years and has played an invaluable role in driving CMI's growth. While we are sad to be losing his wonderful experience, we are excited for him as he enters a new phase of his life.'

Bacik began his MR career with Equifax in its Marketing Information Services division, known as Elrick and Lavidge from 1980 onwards. He rose to be the company's Executive Vice President, with a focus on customer and employee satisfaction, customer value analysis, new product and service development, and branding research.

Bacik was President of the Atlanta / Southeast chapter of the MRA in 1985 and of the Atlanta chapter of the AMA from 1990-1991. From 2000-2003 he was a board member of the Council of American Survey Research Organizations (CASRO). Passionate about the education of new generations of researchers, he is a member and past chair of the advisory board for the master's degree in marketing research at the University of Georgia, and a member of the equivalent board at the University of Texas-Arlington.
