Paragon Snapped Up by ImpactRx

In the US, ImpactRx - which measures the impact of pharma promotion on physicians' prescribing behaviour - has acquired Paragon Research & Consulting for an undisclosed sum.

The firms say that Paragon will now apply its analytical and custom research capabilities to ImpactRX's proprietary data in order to provide an 'accurate and sensitive evaluation of the pharmaceutical market and of individual company and brand performance'.

ImpactRx CEO and President Richard Altus says that after eight years in business, the firm is now generating sufficient cash flow to acquire complementary companies. He adds: 'Our data combined with Paragon's analytics and research expertise will provide our clients with unparalleled visibility into the pharmaceutical marketplace.'

Headquartered in West Chester, Pennsylvania, Paragon was founded in 1991 by Dr Robert Zelnio. Last year the firm hired President of TVG Market Research Shelli Field, as Chief Operating Officer (www.mrweb.com/drno/news6782.htm ).

Founded in October of 2000, ImpactRx is a private company based in Mount Laurel, New Jersey with investment financing provided by Mediphase Venture Partners, Oxford Bioscience Partners, Merck Capital Ventures and 3i.
