Funds for Qual Video Platform
February 13 2008

Colorado-based technology start-up firm QualVu has closed a $750,000 deal to fund development of its web-based video platform, which is used for conducting qualitative research.

The firm sells its video solution to market research providers, including moderators, quantitative research firms, ad agencies, and online communities. The application is used to record and post video questions to audiences, who review and respond directly from their web browser through a video response interface. Video answers are immediately available to researchers, who use the firm’s proprietary QualVu Report Builder to view, edit, or download clips for inclusion in client presentations.

This series A funding was led by Mike Beaudoin and Rodney Rice, who co-founded online building contractor rating firm ServiceMagic.com and who now join the QualVu Board of Directors. Qualvu CEO and Founder John Williamson responded: ‘We're delighted to have the resources to bring QualVu to market. Investment from a team of this caliber is an important validation of our vision to change the dynamics of qualitative research.’

QualVu, founded by Williamson in 2007, is online at www.qualvu.com.
