Consultancy Buys Texas Oil Industry Research Firm

US oil and gas management consultancy Decision Strategies is to acquire Texas-based RMI, which provides market assessment and analysis to the oil and gas industry.

RMI was founded in Houston in 1985 and specializes in evaluating new and existing markets, measuring customer satisfaction and supporting technology commercialization processes. Its staff are oil industry professionals who have worked in marketing management and operational positions with several multi-national companies.

Steve Jacobs, RMI's President and founder commented: 'We have built a pre-eminent reputation for our ability to research, understand and develop information on the oil and gas industry. Our joining with Decision Strategies will assist clients to more meaningfully process the information and make the right choices to enhance their businesses.'

Decision Strategies CEO David Skinner says the acquisition will provide his firm's clients with greater insight through access to current market research and analysis.

The acquisition is set to be complete by mid-year 2008.
