MRDC Expands in Thailand, Promotes in the UK

UK based data processing agency MRDC has doubled the size of its operation in Thailand and employed extra staff to man the expanded unit. Employees David Ward and Fiona Turnbull have meanwhile become Directors in the UK.

MRDC offers data processing and tabulation services, including tracking studies, web data analysis and automated analysis/reporting. In response to growing client needs, its data entry/data management centre in Pattaya, two hours from Bangkok, has moved into larger office premises and now operates over two floors. In addition, the team has expanded to a total of ten staff.

Managing Director Phil Hearn explains: 'Outsource services have grown rapidly in India but Thailand is proving an ideal location for us, as team work and dedicated staff have enabled us to offer customers quality work at an affordable price.'

Ward, who joined MRDC three years ago, has worked in market research analysis for more than five years, initially gaining experience at Adelphi International Research. He manages the Congleton, Cheshire office where he is responsible for a number of pharmaceutical, retail and customer satisfaction projects. During his time with the firm, he has also spearheaded the implementation of new systems to manage major tracking studies.

Turnbull joined MRDC two years ago, and spends most of her time working on analysis projects in the healthcare, retail and customer satisfaction fields. She has an in-depth knowledge of OnTraq, MRDC's data analysis software for multi-country and tracking studies, and also works extensively in client sales and marketing.

Founder Director Sonja Stone said of the promotions: 'We are delighted to have David and Fiona on board with us as Directors. They have added an extra dimension to the firm, improving our technical skills and client servicing standards.'

In addition to the Congleton and Pattaya operations, the firm, which was founded in 1992, has a UK office in Tonbridge, Kent and a software sales support office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
