SPSS Updates Predictive Analytics Platform

May 13 2008

MR software giant SPSS has updated its Predictive Enterprise Services package. Version 3.5 includes improved automation based on events, additional model management techniques and expanded reporting options.

The firm says the platform provides a base from which to manage and automate the entire analytic process and also a single data access layer for building and deploying predictive models to improve customer interactions within marketing campaigns, call centers and through the web.

Bob Dutcher, VP Product Marketing, explained: 'The new release is an essential foundation for managing the entire predictive analytics lifecycle - from capturing the right information, to predicting behavior and then acting on the results. It is now easier for organizations to build predictive models and deploy them at key decision points within business processes.'

Improvements include:

  • Event-based automation - to allow analytic processes to be automatically initiated by events that occur, such as when new customer data is delivered to the system.
  • Enhanced model management - with additional evaluation techniques and a model management dashboard to ensure the most effective models are being used to score customer records.
  • Additional reporting options - with the ability to create interactive statistical reports, cross tabulation reports and a variety of new chart types, with output integrated with existing customer portals.
  • Easier deployment of predictive models - to build predictive models and deploy them within operational systems.
Chicago-headquartered SPSS was founded in 1968 and today has 1,200 employees in 60 countries. It is online at www.spss.com . In February, the firm launched the latest version of its Dimensions software suite. to improve response rates, access to respondents, advanced survey creation and interactive results delivery.
