New Twist for Double Helix

May 30 2008

Full service healthcare consultancy Double Helix Development has announced the launch of Web Sthealth, a tool for data-capture and analysis of patients in online forums.

The tool uses bespoke software and promises 'the potential for ongoing assessment and tracking of pharmaceutical marketing activities' in addition to highly targeted patient research for strategic planning and benchmarking purposes.

Web Sthealth is the product of Double Helix's own research and development. This included a self-funded pilot study successfully completed in HIV, which included the capture of online discussion from the largest HIV-related discussion forums, followed by a detailed and systematic analysis of a relevant subset of over 600 posts on medications.

CEO Dr Wayne Phillips says the new tool 'allows us to combine our core expertise as a leading specialist healthcare market research consultancy with the previously untapped potential of online discussion between patients', enhancing its strategic recommendations for pharmaceutical programmes.

Founded in 1995, the firm is headquartered in Central London, with US offices in Fort Washington, near Philadelphia. Web site: www.doublehelixdevelopment.com .
