Nielsen Tool Gets 'Retail Edition'

Nielsen has introduced a Retail Edition of its Answers technology platform, which groups a number of analytical and reporting applications in a business-process oriented framework.

The new Retail Edition promises to assist clients with issues such as determining the right assortment of merchandise to carry, measuring store level, competitive and market performance, post promotion assessment and competitive market pricing. Features include dashboards to easily identify performance areas for further study; roadmaps to put performance in the market / competitive context; the patent-pending 'Context Carry', which 'remembers' users' key data and analysis behaviour; plus exporting and process bookmarking features.

According to Russell Evans, VP, Global Business Intelligence, the product 'provides a single solution to address the specific analytical needs of retailers and is the most significant tool for the industry on the market today. It provides a simple solution that combines all Nielsen assets, enables more users, and provides a consistent process, with incremental flexibility that will handle more of retailers' unique needs than ever before.'

Nielsen Answers is deployed in 75 countries, in 28 languages, with 85,000 users. The new edition was presented at the company's annual Consumer 360 CPG industry Conference (www.consumer360.com ), attended by more than 1,000 industry professionals. The group's home page is at: www.nielsen.com .
