In the US, the founders of survey sample firm goZing have launched a new company to offer online survey solutions to the global marketing research industry. The pair have also hired four industry veterans to help them kick-start the business.
Matt Dusig and Gregg Lavin sold goZing to Greenfield Online
in 2005 for $30m in cash and took up senior management roles with their new employer.
Three years on, they have received $1.3m in a venture capital deal led by investment firm DFJ Frontier, enabling them to launch United Sample in Encino, California. Their new company uses proprietary technology to build double opt-in Internet-panels to offer clients access to demographically representative survey research data.
Sales veterans Susan Hwang and Michael Brezner have joined as Senior Vice Presidents of Survey Solutions and Jeffrey Unze and Reid Behrendt as Vice Presidents of Marketing and Business Development.
Since its launch, United Sample has acquired more than 250,000 active global panelists with the purchase of an online survey web site.
‘Our vision is to create the next global sample powerhouse, providing fresh and well-qualified respondents and compelling technology solutions for market research firms,’ explained Dusig. ‘With our recently acquired panel and newly hired veteran team, we are looking forward to leveraging our years of expertise on both the client and supply sides of our business.’
