IMS Health Confirms Acquisition

Pharmaceutical research leader IMS Health has confirmed the acquisition of Russian research and analytics firm RMBC, first announced in January.

Terms were not disclosed but the cost was originally estimated at between $4.5m and $7m. RMBC was founded in 1999 and until now was owned by Moscow-headquartered pharma marketing and consulting group Remedium. The firm, which conducts studies of the Russian pharma market, consults on the marketing and promotion of medical and parapharmaceutical products, audits retail and hospital drug sales, and ranks pharma companies, is likely to be absorbed into IMS' Russian subsidiary in the medium term.
