Populus Panel Targets 50+ Demographic

UK polling firm Populus has launched FIFTY+, a panel of 18,000 over-50s aiming to provide detailed information about their purchasing behaviour and attitudes.

With more than 20 million people aged over 50 in the UK, collectively this demographic is responsible for 40% of total spending and holds 60% of all savings.

Populus says the service will help clients develop product ideas and test messages, or take a one-off snapshot of consumer opinion. It offers both closed and open questions, with flexible timeframes for the delivery of results. Simple tables or increased levels of analysis are available to suit the level of depth required.

London-based Populus has been pollster to The Times newspaper since 2003. The firm's services also include the Populus Parliament Panel comprising nearly 200 MPs; its Message Meter to test messages, concepts and media performances among online audiences; and the Opinion Former Omnibus which taps the views of 1,000 business, cultural and political leaders.
