RSA Retail Specialists Merge

In South Africa, food, beverage and packaging research agency BMI Foodpack has merged with retail and manufacturing intelligence specialist Adcheck Research, under the leadership of CEO Gareth Pearson.

There have been no staff redundancies as a result of the merger, as few positions were duplicated across the two companies. A plan to relocate the staff to new, larger offices is already in hand.

The new company will take its name from BMI Foodpack, which currently offers clients both B2B and consumer research, including bespoke studies and generic industry reports, market quantifications, monthly food services tracking and other information services.

Adcheck Research gathers intelligence which offers real-time access to information in retail monitoring and in-store observations.

Pearson describes the fit between the two companies as 'quite amazing', adding: 'Adcheck Research's strong IT capability brings us greater depth of primary data analysis to provide a wider range of market information to our clients. The combination of our data will also result in new products and services as we leverage each other's skills and knowledge.'
