HARPER Launches Physician-Patient Qual Tool

US pharma and healthcare specialist HARPER has launched a new qualitative research methodology for understanding physician-patient interactions and prescribing decisions.

After 12 years in development, the firm's new 'Encounter' approach has been launched to help users understand what leads a person to make a buying or prescribing decision.

Through physician-patient simulations, co-founder David Harper says the system 'brings to life' the interaction between a physician and patient that lead to that decision. HARPER then systematically analyzes and uncovers what is happening in each phase and then advises on what clients can do to impact the decision.

'Nothing, in our experience, comes as close to being in the physician's head or exam room as this', comments Harper. 'The insights that come from Encounter have truly proven invaluable for our clients.'

Based in Indianapolis, Indiana, HARPER was founded in 1996 by Tonya and David Harper and is privately owned.

Earlier this month, Allan Julian re-joined the company as VP of Healthcare Research, after a spell at Harris Interactive.
