eDigital Adds Web 2.0 Features

September 25 2008

In the UK, online research agency eDigitalResearch has launched a new version of its communities tool, incorporating facilities for participants to create profiles and upload photographs and personal information.

eDigitalCommunities captures 'live' customer opinion on product ranges, services, pricing, and branding, and allows organisations to benchmark against their competitors. The firm says that the update provides a 'flexible, engaging and intuitive environment' to allow more in-depth profiling for building research panels.

Customers can be encouraged to post on topics of their choice, or set up their own blogs, while members can comment on each other's opinions as well as rate their relevance and accuracy. They can also set up their own online profiles so that any comments that have been posted can be linked up.

All opinions and conversations can be reviewed, analysed and interpreted by eDigital's researchers, who identify patterns by linking together responses from individuals or groups of individuals to build a more detailed picture.

In July, the BBC awarded the firm a three year contract to provide quarterly user analysis and usability surveys for a number of its bbc.co.uk web sites.
