Three New Fellows for AMSRS

October 9 2008

Greg Wayman, Jayne Van Souwe and Ian Thomas have been named Fellows of The Australian Market and Social Research Society (AMSRS).

Wayman has 23 years' experience in the industry and in 1993 founded NWC Research, which he recently sold to Opinion Research Corporation. He has been involved with the Society for the past 15 years in a variety of roles including Chair and Treasurer. Wayman was instrumental in forming a strong relationship between AMSRS and the Association of Market and Social Research Organisations (AMSRO), and worked on a number of joint initiatives including the roll-out of the Your Views Count campaign, designed to inform the public about the importance of participating in research.

Van Souwe is a Director at Wallis Consulting Group, and has been committed to promoting awareness of the Society's Code of Professional Behaviour for many years. She has served as the AMSRS Professional Standards Officer and as Chair of its ethics sub-committee for the past 10 years, and is also the industry appointee to the AMSRO privacy committee, has co-chaired the AMSRS/AMSRO committee to establish the Your Views Count initiative, and helped prepare the AMSRO submission in response to the initial terms and conditions proposed for the Do Not Call register.

Thomas, who bought EKAS Marketing Research Services in 1988, was AMSRO's representative on the Market Research Quality Assurance (MRQA) committee as Treasurer from 2002 until it was incorporated into AMSRO in 2006 and since then has served as its Chair. He is the first Australian from a field-only company to become a Fellow.

AMSRS is a not-for-profit professional membership body of over 2,100 market research professionals who are dedicated to increasing the standard and understanding of market and social research in Australia.
