SSI Adds Mobile Sampling

October 24 2008

Survey Sampling International (SSI) has added a new wireless / mobile telephone sampling capability to its online sample ordering system SSI-SNAP.

Launched 15 years ago, SSI-SNAP allows clients to draw sample directly from SSI's databases at any time. Through online menus, users can select the features they need, such as business number removal and sample screening, as well as geographies including SSI's ClickUSA Geo-Demographic database. Sample is sent to the user within minutes.

The firm says that demographics of wireless-only respondents are different from those with landlines, and that younger populations - traditionally underrepresented in landline sampling - are more prevalent in wireless sampling.

SSI now has mobile sampling available in nine countries (Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, the UK and US) with plans to expand this service into additional markets. It also offers the use of sampling experts who can work with clients to help ensure that their sample accurately represents the population.

Founded in 1977, SSI is based in Shelton, CT, with additional offices around the globe.
