Nielsen and NET-Metrix to Expand Swiss Panel

In Switzerland, Nielsen Online is to partner with NET-Metrix, the online industry committee for Internet audience measurement, to provide online research data for the Swiss market.

From next January, the two organisations will combine their existing Internet measurement panels, to reach around 4,000 @home panellists. This, they say, will ensure more comprehensive market coverage in terms of web sites measured, and an enhanced granularity of reporting on both web site and audience data.

In addition, both parties are committed to building an @home panel of 10,000 people by the middle of 2009 and an @work panel of 1,500 people.

'This co-operation means Swiss clients will have access to a broad suite of Internet measurement tools,' commented NET-Metrix Co-Ceo Manuel Daehler. 'Furthermore, Switzerland will have consistent and recognized Internet panel data that will benefit advertisers, agencies and publishers alike and will help to promote online as important part of the media and advertising mix.'

NET-Metrix analyses Internet usage in Switzerland and Liechtenstein and offers professional services for the strategic planning of online media.
