ISO Acquires Healthcare Data Specialist

January 16 2009

In the US, risk information firm ISO has acquired D2Hawkeye (D2), a provider of information solutions for the healthcare industry. Terms were not disclosed.

D2's healthcare data services include data mining, decision support, clinical quality analysis and risk analysis tools. The firm also builds and manages medical and financial databases, and provides an ASP-based interface for medical analytics and reporting.

Founded in 2001 and based in Waltham, Massachusetts, D2 employs 260 people and has data operations in South Asia. It collects, analyzes and manages data representing 11 million US consumers for more than 6,000 organizations, on a monthly basis.

Frank Coyne, ISO Chairman, President, and CEO says the acquisition positions his firm for growth in healthcare predictive analytics. 'Pulling together all of our assets, we intend to create one of the largest and most useful normative databases in the industry.'

D2 will become a subsidiary of ISO's Verisk Health businesses, which offer a healthcare enterprise business intelligence platform. D2's Founder Chris Kryder will be CEO of the new company.
