KDPaine Launches Investor Relations Tool

January 21 2009

US research consultancy KDPaine & Partners has launched a measurement and analysis tool which the firm says offers a first for the Investor Relations (IR) professional.

The new IRDashboard integrates metrics for internal and external communications, social media, analyst relations and investor relations into a single dashboard based on a standard set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Using content analysis and scientific coding methodology, the tool monitors the salience and relevance of different themes and topics over time to help IR departments determine the impact of their communications efforts on the investment community.

'IR professionals lack a consistent way to measure their results,' explains CEO Katie Delahaye. 'Our system tracks the specific lines of business, initiatives and battles companies confront, as well as the physical presence of key messages and themes. We even look to the presence of charts, graphs and visuals to determine their influence on the thesis of each analyst's report.'

A client first needs to define the themes that are high on their priority list. The firm then develops a set of coding instructions that enable users to relate the relevance of each of these themes to the conclusion an analyst might draw. As it is analyzed, the information is entered into the new web-based dashboard tool which enables clients to view their results.

New Hampshire-based KDPaine & Partners provides measurement and accountability for corporations, non-profits and government agencies worldwide, and is online at www.kdpaine.com .
