Kitelab Expands South American Presence

The Kitelab group of companies - which specialize in conducting market research in Latin America and the US Hispanic market - has acquired market and opinion intelligence firm Lechter Americas Colombia. Terms were not disclosed.

The operation will join Kitelab's existing network in Miami, US; Guatemala City, Guatemala; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Mexico City, Mexico.

Lechter Americas was founded more than 30 years ago and works in North, Central and South America.

'Lechter Americas will expand the market intelligence that we offer in the Americas,' stated Kitelab President Manuel Barberena. 'Colombia is a very attractive market, with a population of almost 46 million people - making it the fourth largest country in the Americas, after the US, Brazil and Mexico.'

Kitelab was launched last year, to provide its clients with an understanding of Latin consumers and help them develop in the region.

Ilan Lechter, General Manager of Lechter Americas, said that the move will allow his firm to grow, while directly benefitting its clients.
