Sony TV Company Names Research Head

In the US, Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI) has promoted Robin Lake to the post of Vice President of Research, in charge of all research and related analysis for the group.

Robin LakeLake joined SPTI in 2005 as Director of Research, from Disney-ABC International Television where she was Senior Research Analyst from 2000 to 2005, based in London and Hong Kong. While there, she conducted primary and secondary research on television for international territories. Prior to this, she was a Research Executive at Barkers Advertising in Nottingham, UK. After graduating from Michigan State University, she began her career at Austin Knight Advertising where she was an Account Executive.

In her new position, Lake will oversee a team which performs quantitative and qualitative research for all SPTI businesses, including analyses of international TV ratings data, special studies for the international networks group, including research for networks global advertising sales, and focus group/panel testing of multi-platform digital content.

She will also work closely with SPTI's research personnel located in London (for Europe, the Middle East and Africa), Miami (for Latin America) and Hong Kong (for Asia).

Lake reports to Executive Vice President Marketing, Kim Hatamiya, who comments: 'Robin has made tremendous contributions to our in-house knowledge of US and global TV markets, competitors' product, local language productions and our domestic TV production slate. With her background, having worked previously in several international markets, and her thorough understanding of all of our businesses, Robin is an invaluable member of SPTI's management team.'

SPTI produces television in local languages, and its c.40 networks in more than 100 countries reach more than 240 million viewers worldwide.
