Technology Specialist Adds Consulting Wing

UK-based Portio Group is launching a new division, Portio Consult, providing technical, marketing and commercial consultancy services to companies at all stages of growth in the converging fields of telecoms, media, technology and communications.

The new division will be led by Directors Jayne Chace, Scott Allen and Dorian Spackman, whose combined 50+ years of experience in the area includes launching start-ups and spin-offs including SurfKitchen, AmberFin and Acision, as well as work for Oracle, Siemens, Unisys, Celador/2WayTraffic and Logica. They will be supported by a senior team of technology professionals.

Allen says the company's approach allows clients 'to have greater choice, by enabling them to pick from a menu of strategic and tactical services. This means they can choose from bespoke projects, such as a market analysis exercise or sales lead generation campaign, through to more comprehensive programmes from concept to commercial success.'

The new firm's services will include 'a comprehensive portfolio of marketing and research services' in addition to concept and commercialisation consulting, business planning, technology expertise, feasibility and market penetration consultancy, as well as marketing project management. Another division. Portio Research, already specialises in report publishing and database products.

According to Chace, the company can draw on 'a network of industry contacts including VCs, technology experts, software vendors, press, analysts and marketing agencies.'
