Global PR agency Calysto Communications has opened a social media marketing practice. The practice will provide analytical tools to analyze the buzz around clients' web sites and other communications such as press releases, company backgrounders, bylined articles and other online marketing materials.
The new practice will offer services designed for businesses in the broadcasting, telecommunications, and wireless industries. These include analysis of client PR-related search engine optimization (SEO) / keyword strategy; the creation of a blogging strategy; and development of social networking strategy. Companies can then add additional programs for the inclusion of RSS and microblogging strategies for sites such as Twitter.
'An effective social media campaign can have a huge impact on the publicity your brand receives and its success,' said CEO Laura Borgstede. 'As PR professionals, we know how to not only do the research, but also analyze and make strategic recommendations on social media programs.'
According to Forrester Research, three in four US adults who are online now use social media tools to connect with each other, up from 56% in 2007.
At yesterday's Research 2009 conference Andrew Needham, MD of Face said that social media strategy and planning agencies could seize business from former MR agency clients if the market research industry doesn't adopt social media analysis technology.
Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Calysto Communications is online at: www.calysto.com .
