November 28 2001

According to the latest results from NetValue, more than six million people in Britain were exposed to Dell Computer's online advertising campaign in October 2001.

Reaching 41.6% of the UK's home Internet population, Dell's Internet ad campaign came top in NetValue's monthly ad watch research, reaching more people than campaigns from amazon.co.uk (38.9%), casinoonnet.com (38.7%), msn.com (33.7%) and yahoo.com (24.8%).

October also witnessed a steady increase in UK visitors to online auction sites, with 2.5 million people accessing them during the month. This represents a 41% growth during the six-month period from May 2001, when 1.7 million people visited auction sites.

The leading auction website, ebay.co.uk, has seen its unique visitors grow by more than 640,000 over the last 6 months, from 800,000 in May to 1,450,000 in October, and by 200,000 since September. Online advertising from ebay.co.uk reached over 4.3 million Internet users in October.
